Skaven Strand lies on the southeastern shore of the Ringkøbing Fjord, beside a charming little fjord harbour. Two kite and surf spots with ideal flat water, especially good in northerly winds. Quieter and more unspoilt than its big neighbours, a fine tip for beginners and advanced riders alike.

Flat water by the quiet harbour
At Skaven there are two spots with lovely flat water, best ridden in winds from west to north. The water is shallow and still, ideal for practising, and because it’s quieter here than at the big hotspots you often have plenty of space. A small, charming harbour rounds off the picture.
Our take: Skaven is the quiet insider tip on the fjord. No bustle, clean flat water and a harbour that feels like another era. We love spots where you can simply cruise your tacks in peace, and Skaven is exactly one of those.

Part of the great fjord

Like the whole Ringkøbing Fjord, Skaven is shallow and free of stones, so it’s safe for learning. If the wind isn’t in your favour, Bork Havn and Kloster are only a short drive away, so on the fjord you’ll almost always find a suitable spot.
Getting there and staying over
You reach Skaven via the villages around the fjord, the car park sits by the small harbour, and there are campsites and holiday homes in the area. Whether there’s enough wind today is shown by the Wind Check.

Skaven is the quiet, unspoilt flat-water tip on the Ringkøbing Fjord. You’ll find more areas in our spot overview.
