Stand-up paddleboarding is quick to learn and simply feels good, a lap across still water, the sun low, your head clearing. It does not take much, but a few things decide between relaxed and annoying. Here is our list.

What matters

Hardboard or inflatable iSUP? For travelling and storing, the iSUP is unbeatable, a hardboard glides better. More important than the board, though, is the leash. It keeps you with the board in wind and current, your most important piece of safety gear.

Safety first

Watch the wind direction. Offshore wind pushes you out, even when it looks harmless. From wind force four the SUP belongs by the shore. A buoyancy aid is mandatory depending on the water and never a bad idea.

How is the wind today? Let us do the maths.Enter the sport and the wind strength, and you will know whether it is on.
To the Wind Check

Which wetsuit thickness fits today? The right suit thickness in seconds, depending on the water temperature.
To the wetsuit calculator

Board pumped up, list complete? Then out onto the water. Our wetsuit calculator tells you which clothing fits today, and in the other packing lists there is something for every sport.
