Who & when
From spring to autumn the North Sea is at its most accessible. The experienced love the waves in the west; if you prefer it calmer, stick to the flat water. Add the classic Sylt mix of dunes, thatched roofs and stylish island atmosphere.
Good to know
The North Sea has tides and current , check the times and marked areas. The water is fresh even in summer, so a suitable wetsuit belongs in your bag. Swimming beaches have their own rules in high season.
Our impression
Sylt is the North Sea with style , rugged, windy and beautiful all at once. For anyone who wants reliable wind and real waves on their own doorstep, the island is a classic that always works.
