Which size? By discipline, weight and skill
More area = more lift, earlier take-off and more stability (slower). Less area = faster and more agile. Rough guide values (front wing area):
| Beginner / light wind / downwind | large, approx. 1500–2200 cm² |
| All-round / advanced | medium, approx. 1000–1500 cm² |
| Wave / speed / pros | small, approx. 600–1000 cm² |
Features that make the difference
- Aspect ratio: high-aspect (narrow, long) = efficient, fast, top glide (downwind/race); low-aspect (wide) = turny and forgiving (wave/learning).
- Modular system: mast, fuselage, front and back wing can be mixed , so the foil grows with your skill.
- Mast length: shorter = flatter, more stable (beginners); longer = more depth and control in wave/chop.
- Material & box: carbon is light and stiff (premium), alu is cheaper. Mind the board’s foil box (Tuttle/track).
Price orientation 2026
Rough direction: alu entry sets approx. €500–800, carbon front wing alone approx. €500–900, complete premium carbon set (mast, fuselage, front and back wing) approx. €1200–2000.
